23rd December - And here we go again...

As the title suggests, here we go again!

Today i have slept to my heart content to try and get rid of the insane headache i had due to last nights antics. The cat Oscar happily joined me and we had a nice nap together to try and get the energy for the evening.

I went for drinks with my sister (life of a vegetarian girl) because she had broken up from work and wanted to go for cocktails. I only stayed out till 9 though because i was invited to a girly sleepover at DC (this one is female)'s house with my other friend PR. We gorged on Chinese takeaway as well as watching lots of films. One thing we did that got me in the Christmas spirit though was that we played board games, cluedo and monopoly (i went bankrupt).

I do love girly nights :)

22nd December - A house party with friends

My friend DC always organises parties and get togethers when we are all back because i think he gets bored being in Derby. So last night was the nigh of one of the get togethers, and i have to say i had really mixed feelings about it.

For one, i understand that the start of any party is a little bit slow, but right at the start none of my closest friends were there so i felt conversation etc was a little strained, also the people that were there didn't drink very much, whereas i do (what uni does to ya guys) so i felt i was being a little bit judged because i was walking around with a bottle of cider.

But then, when everyone got there, especially one of my best friends PR it really began to be good and i realised how much i missed all my friends. We all got a little drunk (partly due to mine and DC's competitive sides when it comes to drinking. We had a shot competition... I am 5 foot 2 at most and he is well over 6 foot, i think we know who came off better) and ended up having a genuinely nice time.

That was until things began to get a little weird with DC, as it does with most guys, when he invited me back to his room. It doesn't bother me too much because i know that he was out his face drunk and i also know, that like me, he becomes a very lovey person when he is under the influence. I was not going to mention this to him when i saw him the next morning but my oh so lovely friend PR decided to announce it to him because she had overheard him asking me. Ultimately he went very red and the silence that followed was one that could have been cut with a knife. Guys eh?

21st December - A girly day out

Having not seen my friend RL for quite a while we decided to have a nice girly (well as girly as we get) day out. We did all our Christmas shopping and felt like our arms were about to drop off by the end of the day, it was more like a day at the gym than a shopping trip...i hope that constitutes as my weekly workout...

I am proud to say though that being a student helped immensely when shopping because i use my discounts everywhere. I saved Becky quite a bit of money with the use of my NUS Extra card and if that wasn't accepted then using a Westfield staff discount card i have from when i used to work in Westfield.

Not only did we shop to our hearts content, we also went to the cinema to see the new Sherlock Holmes. I would definitely recommend going to anyone. It is a really interesting film that is film in many different, slightly bizarre ways.

After this we then went to and all you can eat Chinese, exactly where all girly days out should end! Its cheap and we got our fill on numerous plates of Chinese food.

20th December - A day with the Grandparents

Being back at home means trying to spend as much time with my family and friends as possible, so on Tuesday i had a day out with my Grandparents. We had a lovely day out in a little place called Ashbourne which is near where i live, it is also where most of my family is from. We then went out to lunch in a little pub called the Stepping Stone, the ham, egg and chips i had there aided me spectacularly with my aim to eat loads whilst I'm in Derby.

In the evening i then spent the night round my sisters new flat, which i have never seen before. She made me a nice butternut squash risotto and we had snacks and watched 'Don't tell the Bride'. Admittedly i did fall asleep rather early, i didn't realise i had missed out on so much sleep being at uni.

The start of it all

After much persuasion from my beloved sister i have decided to create a blog. When thinking and asking advice on what to write about me and my sister came up with the idea to make a girl about town blog but for Scarborough, which is where i am currently residing for university. Within this i will talk about life in general and what to do in Scarborough. As a place it is always seen as a small seaside town that is boring and full of old people, yet if you know where to go and know the right people, the small seaside town turns into a place that is full of quirkiness that holds a special place in my heart.

I am currently not in Scarborough though, i am back in Derby for the Christmas holidays so this will be a temporary girl about Derby blog.
